The Board of Deacons

The Deacons are servants of the church, who assist with the church's more physical needs, (Acts 6:1-4). Their mission is to "serve tables". They assist the Board of elders. There work varies fro one Deacon to another and is physical in nature in opposition to the spiritual responsibilities of the Elders. They help in directing the church's funds to go to the different departments like Caretakers; taking care of the church building, they may help in counting weekly contributions, etc. The Deacons were appointed by the Board of Elders and are therefore overseen by it.
